SBL Secondary School nurtures, coaches and supports every student until they have achieved their own personal goals: whether that is guiding them through their university application, equipping them with the skills to launch their own future business, or supporting them with careers advice or a new job application.

Online Lessons

Our secondary school students receive 3 hours of online lessons per day which are led by an SBL English-speaking teacher and mentor.
Lessons take place daily from 9am to 12noon CET (students in time zones of CET +6 to -1).
We aim to boost academic and learning outcomes for all of our students.
Our students learn beyond their online lessons by expanding their learning and their newly acquired knowledge at a chosen time of day to suit them.
Our students benefit from learning together in multi-aged groups.
Each class is led by two SBL teachers (one language and humanities-focused expert and one science and maths-focused expert).
Our students are prepared to acquire internationally recognised qualifications such as IGCSEs and A Levels.
All learning is delivered to students in English.

Self-directed learning in the afternoon

Our students understand that learning takes place everywhere and at any time.
They continue working on their projects in the afternoon by defining their personalised action plan, advancing their thirst for learning.
Our students understand the value of sharing knowledge, insights and experiences with their peers, teachers, and the wider school community.
Our students are always empowered to take initiative by leading extracurricular activities.
Our students meet online beyond school hours to work on shared projects and/or to develop and brainstorm new ideas.
Our students develop entrepreneurial projects, for example the creation of their own company, the design of a website, progressive strategies around social media engagement and more.
Our students learn to see themselves wholly – as generative and conscious leaders of their own reality.

Mentoring

Each student receives one individual coaching session from their teacher and mentor every week – these carefully tailored sessions help our students to reach their personal goals.
These sessions also guide our students to achieve their short, mid and long-term educational goals.

Residentials

Our school community meets three times per year for one experiential learning week in different locations across Europe and beyond allowing our students to dive into the cultural diversity of new countries.
We encourage our students to socialise with their peers, teachers and mentors in order to strengthen and advance their social and emotional development and to establish a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
Our students learn to navigate and develop a multicultural sensitivity that allows them to appreciate the rich diversity that surrounds them as global citizens.

Project-based learning

Our students work independently on meaningful projects by expanding their own interests through purposeful exchange with their teachers and their peers.
Our students appreciate being an active part of their own learning journey and learn to take responsibility for their learning.
Our students learn that their choice to work on specific projects is purposeful; understanding that their contribution makes a difference.
Our students grow beyond limitations and recognise the relevance of their thinking, behaviour, actions and impact on the world.

Strong collaboration between families and school

Strong collaboration between parents and school is essential in delivering the best learning outcomes for every student.
We invite parents to join the team during the first residential week.
We provide regular written feedback to parents regarding their child’s progress and attainment.
We also organise regular meetings with parents to discuss their child’s specific needs as required.
We provide counselling to students and offer robust strategies and measurable approaches to support student development.
We offer educational continuity, regardless of where a family is based and how often they move around.
We are the only school that delivers a truly holistic education. This is embedded in our school’s DNA, keeping our educational standards high.

Requirements

- Students who are able to read and write fluently.
- Students aged 10 years and older.
- Open-minded and curious students.
- Students who love to work independently.
- Families who are looking for an international outlook in their children´s education.
- Students need a good Internet connection.
- Attendance during lessons in the following time zones: CET-1 to CET + 6.

Fees

Enrolment Fee (one-off payment):	1.500 EUR/1.250 Pounds
Administration Fee (every year):	400 EUR/330 Pounds
School Fees (Upfront Payment) – residential weeks incl. School Fees ( 10 instalments 2.700 EUR/2250 Pounds each) : residential weeks incl.	21.400 EUR/17.850 Pounds 27.000 EUR/22.500 Pounds
